Most my previous outdoor adventures include mountain climbing however upon moving to Florida rather than be depressed about flatness figured great chance to get into paddles sports. Was in Sarasota area for weekend and rented a kayak to paddle on the Myakka River in its namesake State park. Despite all the strip malls and development its easy to forget how wild Florida can be. Your immediately taken by all the birds and the jungle nature of area then finally the moment I was most excited (nervous)about rather large gators. Being from non-gator country its something that’ll take some getting use to but makes these paddles all the more thrilling.
