Reborn on the Dearborn

Stephanie Prater | Dearborn River, Montana

The Dearborn river is a wildly unique river. Only floatable for a small window each year by raft, we watch the flows eagerly to pick a launch. This year, high waters from heavy snow pack in Montana made floating many rivers difficult but we were finally able to catch that window, turn off the cell phones and enjoy an overnight camping trip and two day float that was unbeatable. We enjoyed fun rapids, great conversations around the campfire and wild bison burgers with handmade Montana mustard. We even were blessed to float past a bull moose. No matter the weather or how the fishing is, you leave the Dearborn waters feeling recharged.
