Poem: What the Rivers Give

Ryan Leonhardt | Washington State

The Tamarack River gave me my first love and my first stringer of fish.
A River of unknown name in Alaska gave me its treasure of gold.
The Ugashik River gave me a lifestyle and a living blessing my family with salmon for food and lining our Pockets every summer.
The constant ebb and flow of her tides gave me relaxation between pulses of fish ever pushing to make it to their home, the river of their birth.
The Grand Canyon gave me a new look on life, possibilities abound in its oldest of rocks and newest of adventures.
