First Fish on the Fly

Philip Turner | Upper Colorado river

My sister came from Georgia to visit my dad and I who live near Vail, Co. My dad and I both love to fly fish and thought it would be cool to share that with my sister Katie. We took her up to a cool spot on the upper Colorado river wear a small creek dumps into the river. The whitefish were spawning up this creek and my sister was able to catch her first fish with a fly rod. While drifting eggs through the whitefish she hooked into a few of them and even missed a couple rainbows. It was very cool seeing her learn to appreeciate the lifestyle we love so much. Hopefully we got her hooked.
