Three Rivers

Sharon Wyman | Concord MA area

I live within sight of the Concord River. However, this geographic area enjoys the merging of three rivers – the Concord, the Sudbury, and the Assabet. They are all beautiful; we are blessed. At this time of the year, I especially enjoy seeing the sunrise reflected on the Concord River. When the leaves are on the trees between my home and the river, I cannot see this scene. There are many points of access to our rivers for canoeing, photography, hiking and walking. One important historic site is the North Bridge, famous from the Revolutionary War. Our rivers have been important in the lives of humans throughout history, including for Native Americans long before the arrival of Europeans. The three local rivers continue to be important to the people fortunate enough to live here.
