Canoeing with my Uncle

Jamie Perron | The Saco River in Maine

My uncle, Alfred D. Pour in was a Korean War veteran who was involved with the Chosin Reservoir campaign. Such a great generation. He was an avid outdoorsman and always tried to teach me about nature, well life really. Anyways too make a long story short, when I was 10 years old he took me on my first overnight canoeing trip down the Saco River in Maine. It was exciting and overwhelming all at once. Canoeing during the day sleeping on the sandbars at night. I loved it. I truly have my love and appreciation of the outdoors as a whole do to that trip. Thank you Uncle Al (Poulie) to everyone. Semper Fi. I love you.
