Three generations on the Colorado

Elisabeth Knipple | Colorado through the Grand Canyon

When I was eighteen, I was fortunate to raft the Colorado River though the Grand Canyon with my dad. I had never camped before and only done a single day raft trip, but I was transformed by those twelve days on the river. So once I had kids, I wanted to take them down the full canyon with their grandfather. We just got off the river this morning and are suffering culture shock as we reenter the world. My kids were also transformed; unplugged from their devices and playing in the muck and climbing rocks for thirteen days.
