Part of growing up

When I was very young, I fished for trout with my Grandfather, bless his heart. We often had trout for breakfast. The river c was full of fish then. My father was a steelhead guide on the river. He took General Mark Clark fishing. There was wildlife there back then (1950s). I loved the beaver dams just below our house and the deer and bear that would swim the river. As I grew older the Skagit was a great solace. I would tell it my troubles and come home refreshed. The Skagit was later designated as a Wild and Scenic river. I hope it stays that way.
