Weather on Water

Keagan Lafferty | Colorado River near Moab

One moment were chanting and singing songs and the next moment, we’re huddled together, cowering in fear. Just after a lightning strike not far from us, it starts to rain. We hop into the large boats and start to paddle, quickly making our way to the shore. We are in lightning position, close to the ground. I immediately realize that I will forever remember this traumatic event, yet I will also remember this awesome event. Yes, that’s how my middle school trips to Moab go.
