Me and Mom

Margaret Mitchell | Sedona, AZ

My mother was the best mom a kid could have had – my Dad was great too! So my mom instilled in me from the start to appreciate nature, so did my dad. When we were young my dad loved to fish. In Indiana where, we grew u,p we went to lakes and ponds to fish. My mom was the best at cleaning and cooking those blue gills, bass, and trout.

When my mom moved to Sedona to live with me, we went fishing on Oak Creek. That is when I found out she, in all those years, never fished with us!!

As a kid I never paid much attention to that! So when she told me she had never fished, I was shocked! So we went up beautiful Oak creek and we fished with Velveeta cheese and a treble hook. She caught a beautiful rainbow trout, I had never seen her so joyful that she finally fished, she was so happy and I will never forget that day! I love you mommy, I will see you soon one day. Thanks mom and dad for you gave me the Nature bug. ❤️Margaret
