Learning to swim

Sharon Nault | Thornapple River, Barry County, Michigan

I learned to swim in a river. This river ran through a park where people had cook outs, picnics, and played on swings. At the edge of the park was a museum set up like a small community of yesteryear. The man who overseen the museum was an elderly American Native. He told us to call him Grandpa Beach. We went swimming in the river every weekend during the summer. Great memories and a wonderful learning experience.
