The Dead River

The Dead River. The Dead River flows smooth & gentle out of Burntside Lake in Ely, MN. It hugs a pristine wetland as it winds it way to Twin Lakes. I paddle this peaceful river during the spring, summer and fall. I snowshoe on it in the winter. I have seen moose, wolves, loons and beavers. The Dead River calms and rejuvenates.
